Vote counting began at the Luis Bello electoral college for the Spanish general election fought primarily between Spain's main left wing Socialist party, the PSOE, and the right wing Populist party, PP, led by Mariano Rajoy. 20th November 2011
The prediction give Rajoy as winner. A win for Rajoy, 56, would bring the conservatives back to power after nearly eight years of rule by Socialist Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
Voters are casting ballots to elect 350 members of Parliament and 208 senators.
The winner of Sunday's election will need to continue implementing austerity measures begun by the outgoing government.
