The Rabo Beach Challenge is a 38 km mountain bike race, starting on Scheveningen Beach, running along the North Sea Coastline to Noordwijk and then back again. The Hague, The Netherlands. 19th November 2011
The race started promptly at 11.00 am on a beautiful late autumn morning, warm with almost clear blue skies there was hardly a breeze to be felt as hundreds of bikers started to make their way along the North Sea Coast towards Noordwijk. The first bikers started to arrive back at approximately 12.30 pm a little earlier than expected and almost certainly due to the perfect racing conditions.
The ‘Rabo Beach Challenge Scheveningen’ as the name of the race suggests was a Challenge for all the competing bikers of all ages, for those wanting to win or to get a best race time and for those just wanting to complete the race. It was a fantastic spectator event to watch, to see the the effort, the determination and the joy of the bikers as they completed their challenge was truly inspirational.
