Protesters camped in Square Victoria are evicted by police and city workers directly after rush hour. Montreal, Canada. 25th November 2011
The dream is over.
Friday morning around 9:15 the inhabitants of the improvised shelters in Square Victoria (Montreal) were evicted. The ultimatum offered by the Montreal City Hall expired the evening prior.
So about 200 police officers and City "blue-collars" cleaned the area that it was considered to be "not healthy" for a while ago. The dream that last five weeks was ended in a cold "black Friday" morning.
The protesters that were residing in the area were just capable to watch how the tents were destroyed and how everything that was found on the camping site become "garbage" and was "swallowed" by the trash-trucks.
