Hundreds of protesters gather in Birmingham to voice disgust at Israel's war on Palestine
Hundreds of protesters gathered at Birmingham Town Hall to voice disgust at Israel's war on Palestine. Speeches were given by a number of local MPs, Councilors and Trade Unionists. The feeling amongst the protesters was passionate but non-violent. Following the rally, police blocked off main roads into the center of Birmingham, trying to stem the flow of large groups of youths into the retail district. This caused some unrest at the Bullring shopping complex but was defused swiftly. All in all the day was a heartwarming example of people, from varied echelons, rising up against a very severe and gross injustice.
