Signs of Occupy Boston at Dewey Square

The Occupy Boston movement has officially lasted over two months. On December 1st, a court hearing was held regarding the ongoing protest. Judge Francis McIntyre ruled to keep in place a temporary restraining order protecting the Occupy Boston Camp at Dewey Square. This order prevents the camp from being evicted by the City of Boston until a written decision is issued sometime on or before December 15th. The demonstrators aim to raise awareness about the discontent with the American economic and political systems. While there is no specific demand that the participants and their supporters are focusing on, the driving idea behind the discontent is the fact that the top 1% owns 50% of the nation’s wealth They are advocating for a change in the democratic system which they feel as though has been undermined by corporate and special interests.
