Chairperson APDP, Parveena Ahangar reiterated her demand of setting up an independent commission to look into the issue of enforced disappearances. “We don’t want money or jobs, we want to know the whereabouts of our dear ones,” Ahangar said in her speech.
The APDP members had assembled here to protest against the enforced disappearances in Kashmir. The protesters were wearing black pherans and candles in their hands in order to observe this day as black day.
Meanwhile, Er Sheikh Abdul Rashed, independent MLA from Langate constituency, led a candle light demonstration against human rights violation and urged the civil society to pressurize the Centre for revoking AFSPA in the state.
He alleged the state government of double speak and said that they speak one language in Kashmir and other in New Delhi, in order to keep their bosses happy. “We will fight till or end through democratic means. If they will not listen we will go for undemocratic means as well,” Rashid warbed.
