Defence center against right-wing extremism opens in Germany
German Federal Interior Minister Friedrich opens "common defence center against right-wing extremism", together with Jörg Ziercke, the Director of the BKA and Heinz Fromm, the President of Verfassungsschutz. Berlin, Germany 16th December 2011
Today the german federal interior minister Dr. Hans-Peter Friedrich opened a so called common defense center against right wing extremism ( Gemeinsames Abwehrzentrum gegen Rechtsextremismus - GAR). Together with Jörg Ziercke, the Director of the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany (Bundeskriminalamt BKA) and Heinz Fromm, the President of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz) they meet today the first time in Berlin.
The occasion of the new center was the detection of the german neo-Nazi terrorist group NSU (Nationalsozialistischer Untergrund) a month ago. This group killed thirteen people because of a racist ideology. To Register and prevent such actions and activities in the future earlier, from now on the authorities meet daily in Cologne and Meckenheim.
