Torres del Paine in South Patagonia still burns after five days

Rich beech forests, pictured in an unaffected area, are being demolished by the flames.

The Cuernos of Torres del Paine are visible over the French Valley, consumed by smoke as the fire makes it way towards Lago Nordenskold.

Tourists are evacuated from the Grey Lake as fires approach the beach, which looks out on Glacier Grey. The fire has escaped the W trail, winding its way around Paine Grande and towards the pampas of Serrano.

Hotel Grey is evacuated as the fires rage across the hills and towards the Grey River.

The fire started on the Gray Trail in Torres del Paine near the Puente Olguín, going from the Paine Grande and into the French Valley, burning high into the rich Lenga Forests here in Magallanes, Chile. It has consumed a large part of the park.
