US President Jimmy Carter visits Egypt for elections - Cairo
Jimmy Carter during the run-off vote for the third round of the country's parliamentary election. Media reports said Carter arrived in Cairo during which he will be visiting polling stations. 10th January 2012
Former US president Jimmy Carter waves upon his arrival to a polling station in Cairo's Al-Sahel district during the January 10, 2012 round of a three-staged election launched in November to choose the first parliament since mass protests forced former president Hosni Mubarak to quit. The Carter Center is one of the few monitoring group to have had a licence to witness the Egyptian elections.
