DC protest marks 10th anniversary of Guantánamo Bay detention facility

Protestors participated in a "National Day of Action" against Guantánamo today on the 10th anniversary of the arrival of the first twenty detaineesat the Guantánamo Bay detention facility (specifically to Camp X-Ray) at the Guantánamo Bay Naval Base (GTMO) in Cuba. The protestors first assembled for a rally in the rain at noon in Lafayette Park across from the White House and then began to form a "human chain" starting their walk from in front of the White House, down Pennsylvania Avenue towards the Capitol Building, and then to the Supreme Court building. The protestors at the beginning of this "chain" wore orange jumpsuits and black hoods, as a symbol of the attire of detainees.
