Description:

From The Guardian...the police and the Crown Prosecution Service announced that they were establishing a joint panel that would examine other allegations of UK complicity in torture and rendition levelled by a number of former Guantánamo inmates and others detained in the so-called war on terror. These complainants include Shaker Aamer, the last British resident still held at Guantánamo.

The panel will decide whether the allegations should be examined first by the official inquiry that was established by David Cameron 18 months ago, and which is waiting to start hearing evidence, or whether police should investigate immediately.

Here's a link to the Crown Prosecution Service and its joint statement with the Metropolitan Police. http://www.cps.gov.uk/news/press_statements/joint_statement_by_the_director_of_public_prosecutions_and_the_metropolitan_police_service/

There are three decisions outlined. A) No prosecutions of members of the SIS - so called named individuals B) the setting up of an advisory panel for scoping other complaints about ill-treatment by detainees in similar circumstances. (This includes Shaker Aamer as both the BBC and The Guardian have reported) And C) The cases you refer to.
