At 8am this morning police battle with three gunmen held up in a bank in the centre of Kabul. The police killed the gun men alleging that they were terrorists wishing to disrupt the elections. Kabul,
This morning at 8.00 locals reported seeing 2 Afghan men enter the Pashtani Bank in the center of Kabul City. They were strapped with ammunition, Ak-47's and hand grenade.
Police were quick to arrive at the scene and were immediately welcomed by gunfire from the banks second floor and rooftops, police were then embedded in a 2 and a half hour gun battle with the men, another man was spotted firing from the bank at the police.
Locals were dubious whether the men were Taliban, it was clear that their intentions were to kill as many policemen as possible. It was not clear whether they planned to rob the bank but rather knew that the police would respond quickly to the news that it is being robbed.
The gun battle finished at 10.30am some police men were injured in the battle, the three Afghans that held up the bank had been killed. The police later reported that they were terrorists intending to disrupt the elections and today's Independence Day celebrations.

Appreciate the info, it’s good to know.
Gun Safes
interesting story, but why photograph dead people. Citizen photo/journo should not be about hyper sensationalism.
Keep up the work, just get to the scene before its over...
Why show killed? What's the point?
good luck to all
