Hermann Josef Hack declares Frankfurt Airport a climate refugee camp
On 19 June, German artist Hermann Josef Hack declared the Frankfurt Airport a climate refugee camp. With the help of 30 activists, who smuggled 255 miniature refugee tents in their luggage bags to Terminal 1 B, Hack pitched his camp right in front of the information board. Passengers witnessed the public intervention with interest.
Although, security staff assisted by the police tried to stop Hack's performance. Hack involved them in the discussion about how their airport will increase the climate change demages on one hand and the victims of climate war on the other.
So even if the police stopped the intervention, Hack's demand remains: Respect the rights of climate refugees!
