Localised flooding, Pedestrians, Sunday 6th December, Lytchett Minster, Arrogance and selfishness.
If you watched 'The Darling Buds of May' in the 1980's you may well have been enchanted by the friendly folk of England's glorious countryside. Well down here in the picturesque village of Lytchett Minster in Dorset those fine country folk are ready and willing to give any visitor a traditional friendly West Country welcome by soaking you to the skin in the depths of December. It's been raining here solidly for nearly 3 weeks now and there is standing water everywhere. What the weather people, in their infinite wisdom choose to call 'localised flooding'. Today I saw several pedestrians backwashed by speeding vehicles through the village. Young or old, male or female, it seems anyone who isnt motorised is fair game.
