Durga Puja is celebrated by Bengalis across the world with much fervour. In Delhi, which has a sizeable population of Bengalis, the festival has become a way to bring together a community which is far away from home.
The hub of celebrations in the city of the CR Park area, populated by Hindu's who migrated from parts of Bengal which now form part of Bangladesh during the partition.
The festival which spreads over ten days reaches a crescendo around the eight day of Ashtami, September 26.
Devotees throng the puja pandals where beautifully crafted idols of the Goddess Durga are worshiped over the last few days of the festival.
