Working on a hunch, I decided to pass by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic Iran in Hungary which is located on Stefani ut in the 14th District of Budapest, Hungary. I arrived just before 13:00 CET and I found approximately 70 people standing on the sidewalk in front of the Iranian Embassy holding signs, chanting and singing songs. A small detachment of police stood in line in front of the Embassy. The over all mood was relaxed with the police standing easy and the protesters maintaining a respectful distance from the grounds of the embassy. The group of protesters appeared to be mostly young Iranian university students. At one point during the demonstration the protesters were addressed by several individuals who appeared to be diplomatic staff who had come out from the Embassy. The interaction between the protesters and the Embassy staff was polite and respectful. Around 13:30, the protesters disbanded in response to Police requests given that the protesters did not have permits to their protest.
