Game On Olympic Warm Up Weekend Basketball - the 02 Centre played host to the Four Nations Basketball competition that annouces the 02 Centre as the Olympic Venue and home court for the Great Britain team. Great Britain, Turkey, Poland and Israel will play a series of games 14-16 August.
In defiance of predictions for this game Israel took command of the first quarter in convincing style. Again Poland played their trump card of hectic pace, but unlike Team GB, Israel refused to rise and quickly the game was on thier terms. A seven point lead at the end of quarter one, was repeated and extended in quarter two, to nine points.
Quarter three saw Poland start to play more intelligently, making several attempts to close the lead, but Israel kept their heads and retained control. The pace was again stepped up in the first half of quarter four and Poland again looked capable of upsetting the balance, but Israel were a different team to Day 1 and played the last 5 minutes of the game with confidence.
