Jaime Hayon’s “The Tournament” a Giant Chess Board Appears in Trafalgar Square London
Today a giant chess set title “The Tournament” appeared in London’s Trafalgar square. The board, complete with giant ceramic hand painted chess pieces created by Spanish artist Jaime Hayon, is part of London’s Design Festival which runs until 27th September. The chess set, with pieces up to 2 metres tall, will remain in Trafalgar Square until Wednesday. The pieces were made in Bosa in the Veneto region of Italy.
"It is the first time that people will play with my work quite literally, and for me that's the most exciting thing" Jaime Hayon. 09/18/2009
