The 5k run went off without a hitch, included lots of water and fun as the participants ran through scenic landscape and muddy obstacles. Winners for best time in their division were awarded cash prizes of $200 each.   Returning competitors who have completed 4 mud runs have a chance to win $2000 for best overall time in their division. The next run in Irvine Lake is scheduled for April 2010.  All Proceeds from the event are given to Scripps Institution of Oceanography and other groups that support their efforts to bring awareness of ocean pollution and the cleanup that is necessary to keep our eco system in balance.
