We thought that it would finally rain on our parade. But on Sunday, June 28th in Toronto, as the beginning of the Pride Parade rolled out, the downpour ceased and the sky opened up. I could hear someone in the distance yell "God does love Gays!" It's become almost an "in" joke that it never rains on our parade and this year's theme of Can't Stop, Won't Stop was an appropriate choice.
The muscle boys paraded their pecs, many of the lesbians did to. The local Toronto Roller Derby League women were the honored dyke group and skated their way down Yonge St to enormous applause and whistles on all sides.
With the majority of the downtown core shut down for festivities on the weekend, Pride in Toronto is a huge affair with events spanning over a week. Due to a current city workers strike however, some events such as the City Hall rainbow flag raising had to be cancelled.

Definitely more colourful
Definitely more colourful than the Jerusalem parade. Dykes on Bikes, that's what Jerusalem was missing!
