The U.S. Postal Service presented the Bob Hope Commemorative stamp 6 years after his passing in 2003 at the age of 100. Hope performed for troops aboard the USS Midway in 1972 and 1987. His family had requested that the dedication be held on the carrier, said Scott McGaugh, marketing director for the Midway. His daughter Linda Hope and son Kelly Hope attended the presentation and First day of issues were available to the public.
