Residents and tourists in Whistler BC Canada celebrated Canada's 142 birthday on July 1, 2009. The main attraction was the noon parade with floats and displays from many of Whistler's organizations and companies.
These included the Whistler Fire Department pulling a fire truck through the village, Squamish Native Nation (red shirts & Canoe), Whistler Children's Art Festival (Dance girls in pink & black), Fairmont Chateau Whistler (Blue bobsleigh), TaeKwonDo, RCMP, Whistler City Council and sister city chairman (Chairman Ogihara from Karuizawa Japan), Farfall (Deadlocks musician) and many others.
After the parade the Paperboys, a Vancouver band played. (Musicians on stage).
Celebrations continued throughout the day with street performers, musicians, artists, face-painters and many more lining the streets of Whistler.
