More than 2 million people from different places in Spain, men, women and kids started to congregate in Madrid at Puerta de Alcala square yesterday the 4th of July 2009 at approximately 6:00 pm. Some 31 colourful floats sponsored by different political (UGT, CCOO, PSOE, etc.) organisms, private companies as well as clubs painted with light and glamour the town red and flooded the sunny Madrid streets with glitz and catchy rhythms under the slogan “Schools with no closets” (Escuela sin armarios). The official parade finished at 11pm as the last float entered Plaza de España cheered by the applause of the crowd and presentations made by the representatives of FELGTB and COGAM – the organizers of the event – right from the main stage at the plaza. Más de 2 millones de personas desde diferentes lugares de España, hombres, mujeres y niños se concentraban en la madrileña plaza de Puerta de Alcalá ayer día 4 de Julio del 2009 alrededor de las 18:00.
