The special election for the vacated seat of late US Senator Edward Kennedy took place on January 19, 2010. Democrat Martha Coakley, the Attorney General of Massachusetts, was upset by a state senator from Wrentham, Republican Scott Brown, delivering the seat to GOP control for the first time in decades. With the senate makeup changed, President Obama's health care bill hangs in the balance.
These are pictures from her rally and concession speech.
