La charrería es el deporte nación Mexicano que tiene su origen en los años de la colonia española (1520). En un principio los indígenas tenían prohibido montar caballos y poseer ganado, pero los hacendados los empleaban para realizaban las faenas de herrar, capar, curar y tuzar al ganado.
Con el tiempo se les permitió a los indígenas montar y tener sus caballos. Y ellos fueron creando la indumentaria que les ayudaba a llevar a cabo su trabajo y que ahora se conoce como el traje charro.
A Sebastián de Aparicio se le conoce como el pionero de la charrería, ya que enseño a los indígenas la crianza y como domar los caballos en su hacienda en Puebla.
Las competencias iniciaron cuando los hacendados competían y mostraban sus mejores caballos. Mostraban lo diestros que se podían ser en el trabajo de las haciendas.
