A few carefully chosen journalists were invited by the BNP to go to a supermarket car park in Grays, Essex from where they would be redirected to the massive manifesto launch event. 300 plus candidates were expected, the theatre was booked and security snarled from the entrance.
I didn't bother with the redirection point but went straight to the launch. Security thought I'd been sent from the car park and ushered me safely inside. About 80 candidates waved their cards around and hissed insults. But if they'd thrown me out then that might have been the news, not the launch so I got take these pictures. Then I went home and had a very hot shower.
