Annual meeting of Buryat shamans on Olkhon Island in Baikal. This place is considered sacred in shamanism cultures. Shamanism was very widespread in Siberia before Оctober revolution 1917. In the Soviet time, Russian government struggled against shamans, they were fiercely repressed. Now shamanism is starting to be popular among Buryats again, although the tradition had been nearly lost.
