A failed attack on the citizens and government offices of Pul-E-Alam was staged from this unfinished abandoned building, located across the street from the Pul-E-Alam police headquarters and near the governor's compound in the Logar district of eastern Afghanistan.
Three insurgents were killed in the fighting, and Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) were able to ensure no loss of civilian life occurred in the attack.
An improvised explosive device that was set to detonate was discovered by the ANSF as they worked to secure the building from which the insurgents attacked government compound in Pul-E-Alam.
A vehicle-borne improvised explosive device was detonated in Pul-E-Alam as part of the insurgents' attack that failed.
The bomb did not claim any lives from the ANSF troops or government officials, but did wound a boy, aged 14. The boy was treated by medical personnel and released to his family.
