By the hands of the King of Spain, D. Juan Carlos I, and the President of Portugal, Aníbal Cavaco Silva, and the President of the Spanish government, José Luiz Zapatero, and the Portuguese Prime Minister José Sócrates, the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) facilities were inaugurated today in the city of Braga, Portugal.
The building will be the working place where 200 scientists from all over the world will have the opportunity to carry on top level research in nanotechnology. Present at the ceremony were also the Spanish minister of Science and Innovation, Cristina Garmendia, and the Portuguese minister of Science, Tecnhology and Higher Education, Mariano Gago, José Rivas Rey, INL General Director and Braga mayor Mesquita Machado.
INL is a joint forces between Portugal and Spain to increase scientific investigation in both Iberian countries.
