UNISON members and supporters at the Greater London Authority (GLA) watched the 'Mayor of London Boris Johnson' or at least a man in a pig mask throw corn at a chicken man during a protest over job cuts at Potters Field, next to City Hall.
The mayor recently claimed that his quarter of a million pounds fee for his Telegraph newspaper column is 'chicken feed'
Boris Johnson earns £140,000 as mayor and donates £50,000 from his annual fee to charities.
The mayor was being interviewed by the BBC's HardTalk programme.
Pressed on whether voters would agree with the description, the mayor said he was being "frivolous".
He added he wrote very fast and for him it was Sunday morning relaxation.
