Candidates of Miss Earth International 2012 had fun in the sun in The Bolinao sea and resorts in swimwear and unwinding from their hectic activities promoting environmental projects in the province.
A unique carabao-swimming race held during the Mangunguna Festival at Balingasay River in Bolinao. The race is stirred by the old tradition of using carabao to cross the river. Other sports were featured in this 5th year of the festival.
Miss Earth International 2012 candidates accompanied by Pangasinan Gov. Amado T. Espino Jr. And boy scouts from local schools planted mangrove saplings at Bolinao Provincial Mangrove Information Center and Nursery.
The vessel MV Harita Bauxite with a crew of 24 Myanmar nationals reportedly sunk off the coast of Bolinao, leaving 1 person dead, 2 injured and 14 still missing. Search and rescue is still ongoing for those missing.
