The bodies of two servicemen killed in Afghanistan at the weekend have been flown back to the UK. Cpl Brent McCarthy of the Royal Air Force and L/Cpl Lee Davies, of 1st Battalion Welsh Guards were shot by members of the Afghan police force.
Two of the three Scottish Soldiers who were killed in Afghanistan by a roadside bomb on 30th April 2013 have been repatriated through RAF Brize Norton on their way to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Two more of the RAF's ageing fleet of VC-10 tanker aircraft were retired, making their final flights into a storage site in Leicestershire. Just half a dozen examples of the VC-10 now remain in RAF service.
