UN peacekeeping troops in DRC (MONUSCO) patrolling the city of Goma, months after being retaken by government forces.

DRC Army Chief of Staff Francois Olenga flew via helicopter from Kinshasa to Minova, to rally his eastern FARDC troops (The Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo) against the M23 rebels.

Seven aboard the flight to Goma airport were killed when the plane crashed into an open area in the city. Severe weather conditions have been named as the cause for the crash.
