Penny Lin, an environmental educator and artist has won a prestigious Auckland prize for the second time, winning first place in the Estuary Artworks 2012 exhibition, in Howick. Penny also won the exhibition in 2009.
A new statue commemorating the capture in 1962 of Nelson Mandela, has been erected near Howick in South Africa. Designed by Marco Cianfanelli 50 years after the event, the sculpture comprises of some 50 steel columns between 6.5 and 9.5 meters tall.
