When the Goverment of Spain cut the budgets for coal mining, some miners continue to work to protest their employers, and they protest cutting roads, because their fight is against the government not against police or employers.
Roadblocks continue in Leon as Leon miners cut the road between Leon with Oviedo, in the village of La Robla. Miners are upset over recent government budget cuts in the mining industry.
Antonio Piedra (Andalucia) won the 15th stage of the Vuelta a España between La Robla and Lagos of Covadonga, one of the three most important climbs of the event. A. Contador, J. Rodriguez and A. Valverde both finished the stage with the same times.
Miners gather in an assembly, to make clear that the enemy is not the police, and that it is the politicians that want to destroy what their parents and grandparents built. Austerity cuts mean that thousands of jobs could be at risk.
