The St Piran's Day march began in Penzance, snaking its way through the town and into the Morrab Gardens. People of all ages took part, dancing, playing instruments, and flying the flag and colours of St Piran.
The London 2012 Olympic torch relay started at Lands End. Three times Olympic Gold Medal winner Ben Ainslie CBE, was the first torch bearer at Lands End, the route then passed St. Michaels Mount near Penzance, Cornwall, on its way to Plymouth.
