I love telling the stories of those whose voices are often silenced.

Personal Statement

Injustice fuels my activism. My activism inspires my photography. It is through my work as a photojournalist that I seek to effect change, evoke feelings of curiosity, and inspire understanding. We sometimes forget that we are no different than our neighbor and thus need to be reminded of such. The pain we experience, others experience. The suffering we feel, others feel. Whether one chooses to be empathetic to another is another is a matter of choice, but I feel compelled to tell the stories of those who are forgotten and misunderstood. If one of my images challenges an individual to think critically about the way we treat one another, then I have succeeded.
