I use a 35mm 2 (a very good lens indeed) and a 20mm 2.8 (not as good but it's ok). As I love being IN the crowd, these lenses don't give me the choice : i have to be in ;-)
For the report you're talking about there is just 2 photos made with a 70-200mm 2.8.
But I should probably use sometimes the same as yours.

I love your night images. Natural colour retained. I guess you could have been using Nikon 50mm 1:8D or 1:4 or even better could it be a 50mm 1:2..? I use a 1:8mm and still able to freeze action and provide me abundant light. Great images by the way.
