The Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF) celebrated its 100th anniversary by hosting a air show over Oslo harbour. Apart from airplanes from the the Royal Norwegian Air Force, the French Air Force´s acraobatic team Patrouille de France was visiting.

On the 22 of July 2011, Anders Behring Breivik set off a bomb outside the government buildings down town Oslo. Eight people was killed and several more injured. The terrorist later drove to the Utøya island where he shot and killed 69 more people.
