a working free journalist, in former times writing for two newspapers in germany, the "taz" (http://taz.de) and the "jungeWelt" (http://jungewelt.de) (you can find published articles there, clicking on the newspaper´s archive and then search by author name). besides of those two newspapers, which have their editorial base in berlin, I am writing for http://wikinews030.wordpress.com/
since being a typical freelancer, I finally decided to set myself free from usual editorial working timeframes which in some cases lead to an unnecessary delay in publishing of an urgent topic (and also to set myself free from editorial cuts in my texts, which in not many but some cases lead to distinct changes of content - as well as to set myself free from further cuts of journalists' earnings, finding the payment per printed line not worth talking about and not being in line with usual research duration. a research time which is needed and, of course, expected by every editor who is searching for qualitative journalistic newspaper content), thereby decided to concentrate on other media platforms than the mentioned berlin print newspaper jungewelt and also not to come back as a freelance journalist writer to taz as long as the payment for topics needing longer research stays what it is until today.
since, at the other hand, other berlin newspapers than the mentioned ones don't interest me enough to get in contact with (everyone has his/her own focus and priorities), I prefer to work on independently and see if there finally a solution comes visible.

At March, 11th Berlin´s Activists informed via indymedia about a recently organized action in Berlin. They visited the new Senator of Finances in Berlin, Ulrich Nussbaum, and delivered a letter to him. The letter demanded a rescue of the house project Brunnenstraße 183 in Berlin-Mitte (only a few meters away from the Border of Pankow, formerly Prenzlauer Berg).
The former Senator of Finances, Thilo Sarrazin, a well-known person in Berlin who advised persons living at the edge of poverty to 'take care better for their money and buy more aldi carrots' (this is not a joke) - this former Senator
decided to sell a property in Acherstr. 29 to the Company Joop (rumours tell, it´s Joops daughter so eagerly wanting
those properties in Berlin-Mitte in her hands). The letter demands a redemption of this decision.
The named property (Ackerstraße) is part of a compromise plan, made up with the Quartier Berlin-Mitte. A compromise plan with the aim of a maintenance of the 16-years-old house project. Due to the plan the property is to be sold to the nowadays` owner of Brunnenstraße 183, in order to sell it then to the inhabitants of Brunnenstraße 183 - which would be the only chance for them, to keep the project (... to keep the project alive).
The former Finances Senator Sarrazin has stopped this procedurewith his votum (the procedure of selling of the property to Kronawitter).
Due to the fact that the inhabitants have lost all rent rights now, the house is in daily growing danger of being vacated.
The new Finces Senator Nussbaum - who is officially in charge since a few days - got a visit today.
Around 15 persons managed to enter his office and to hand out the letter to him after some pressure which had to be used.
The letter has been delivered personally and included a description of the situation as well as a solution proposal.
He's been informed that the situation is quite urgent. Also the problems and consequences of a evacuation trial has been named (hinting at Berlin´s recent May 1st - debate).
It´s been promised to check the situation today (at may 11th). The inhabitants are waiting for a call of Finances Senator. Maybe some media also know what a telephone is.
