My photography focuses on small issues that are an outcome of more global problems.
Human rights, and the rights of LGBT people play a large role in my documentary work, and I intend to focus more on this in the future.

Turkish members of the Türkiye Komünist Partisi, mostly from the Alawite (Alevi) sect of Islam, demonstrate in Antakya, southern Turkey, in response to two car bombings in border town Reyhanli, 40km away.

Two car bombs were detonated in the Turkish border town of Reyhanli, less than five kilometres from Syria. 40 people are reported dead, and many injured, in what seems like a spillover from the Syrian conflict into Turkey.

The camp for internally displaced Syrians in Atmeh, on Syria's' border with Turkey is home to around 12,000 people, with more arriving each day. The camp was established when Turkey stopped receiving Syrians.

As the Syrian conflict rolls into it's 21st month, the rural communities around the country are struggling to live without basic supplies, such as petrol, flour and electricity, although to some extent they are self sustainable and self governing.

The annual IDAHO (International Day against Homophobia) march through Ankara, Turkey, called for full legal equality in the Turkish constitution, and an end to the death penalty and homophobic laws in Iran, with a large number of Iranians attending.

A bomb aimed at a police bus outside the Islamist business association, MUSIAD, and close to the ruling AKP party regional office in Istanbul, the bomb injured at least 16.

More than 12,000 people marched in central Istanbul to mark five years since the shooting of Armenian-Turkish journalist Hrant Dink by a teenage gunman. Placards read "We are all Hrant, We are all Armenian" Turkey. 19th January 2012
