PERSONAL STATEMENT:

I'm an American who has been living overseas since 2000. I have lived in the UK, Tanzania (for seven years) and, most recently, Budapest for the last two years. As of October, 2009, I have started a year long trip, and I will be traveling through the Balkans, the Middle East ,Central Asia and the Caucuses.

While I on my trip, I will be looking for interesting stories to write about and photograph. I'm interested in exploring the linkages between travel writing, story telling and journalism, using advancements in social media and technology to bridge the gaps between people and place.
