I am a University faculty member as well as a freelance photojournalist. My main journalistic interests are political events in Washington, DC and the surrounding area, as well as local interest stories at the University of Maryland in College Park.

President Barack Obama and his family hosted the 135th White House Easter Egg Roll. Jessica Sanchez sang the National Anthem from the balcony. "Kid President" Robby Novak was this year's special guest.

Over 300,000 people requested tickets for the 135th Easter Egg Roll at the White House through an online lottery and more than 30,000 won tickets. Children attending the event had a chance to participate in an Easter Egg Roll race on the South Lawn.

Washington, DC was covered in a blanket of fog on the morning of the 135th Easter Egg Roll as people lined up to enter the Ellipse and White House grounds. The fog slowly lifted over the course of the morning until it was bright and warm out.
