The 'Gladiator Rock'n Run' is a 5K obstacle-course race with 17 challenges, which consist of mud, barbed wire, ropes, water, fire and other obstacles guaranteed to challenge any competitor. Proceeds from the race go to help children with autism.

More than 6,000 Luminarias (candles in sand filled bags) lit the banks of the San Antonio River. The Fiesta de las Luminarias is a centuries old tradition that is symbolic of 'lighting the way' for the Holy Family and pilgrims to Bethlehem.

Santa and Mrs. Claus posed for free photos with young and old alike on San Antonio's River Walk. People used their own cameras and camera phones, with those waiting in line helping take photos for those in front of them.

Yarn bombing,a form of street graffiti,has begun in San Antonio's La Villita, with the trunks of 20-30 trees throughout the town decorated with colorful knit and crochet work. The guerrilla knitting will stay up for 3 weeks so the public can view it.

A flamenco flash mob dance in front of the Alamo. The 20 flamenco dancers were from San Antonio and Austin, Texas. They danced for 15 minutes and disappeared. Flamenco is a genre of Spanish music, song, and dance from Andalusia, in southern Spain.

We Are Change holds a protest to End the Fed (Federal Reserve) in Alamo Plaza. The End the Fed protests occur nationwide and are based on a 2009 book by Congressman Ron Paul of Texas by the same title.
