Personal Statement
I am Kishor, a Self-taught Photojournalist born in 1983 in Bara district of Nepal. After completing my bachelor’s degree in Business Studies I joined College of Journalism and Mass Communication in Kathmandu for the Master’s degree. I started taking pictures since 2006 without any clear understanding of the medium and later impressed by the idea of visual storytelling.I have completed my internship in Drik India, Calcutta through Fredskorpset Norway’s South-South exchange program; as a Photographer and Image Developer; from November 2008 to August 2009.
I’ve participated in the Photographers exchange program between OUC Norway- Pathsala Bangladesh and Photo.Circle Nepal (http://photocircle2010.wordpress.com/) and attended the Workshop under mentorship of Philip Blenkinshop (Noor Images) and Munem Wasif (Agence VU) in the begining of 2010. Likewise I also got an opportunity to attend a Workshop with Frédéric Lecloux (Agence VU) in Kathmandu.
I was also invited to participate in the Angkor Photo Workshop in 2010 as a young Asian Photographer and attended the Workshop under the mentorship of Antoine DÁgata (Magnum Photos).
I’m interested in Human interest Social Documentary Photography. I am currently working as a freelance Photographer in Kathmandu and available for assignments.
