As riots continue in Cairo (Egypt), police placed a wall on Qasr El Aini Road to prevent protesters from reaching the Shura Assembly building. Clashes moved to Symon Bolivar Sq, behind the USA Embassy. Tents appeared again in Tahrir Sq.

Opposition parties called for marches of protest after President Morsi declared new laws that allegedly give him impunity for his decisions while in charge. Thousands of people converged into Tahrir Square,while clashes continue in the surroundings.

After a quiet afternoon of demonstrations held to remember the victims of clashes in 2011, violence erupted in Mohamed Mahmoud Rd and soon spread to Tahrir Square and the surrounding area.

During the festival the Yi and Bai communities in the area use to light up wood torches in front of their houses. The youths give a twist to the tradition throwing sawdust on the flames, creating fireballs and giving life to a spectacular party.
