Four of Canada's top cellists got together for a unique mid-morning concert at Ottawa's St. Matthew's Church. A full house thoroughly enjoyed the music of Vivaldi, Julius Klengel, Joseph Jongen, Tchaikovsky, and even a bit of Duke Ellington.

Remembrance Day services were held all over Canada and in Lanark County, west of Ottawa, where five separate events at local cenotaphs took place including at Clayton, Pakenham, Carleton Place, Beckwith, and Almonte.

The 2012 Ottawa Chamberfest closed on August 9 with a gala performance by Quatuor Ebene, the French string quartet. They were joined on stage by pianist Louis Lortie, and violinist Augustin Dumay for an evening of Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and Chausson.

Canadian baritone Gerald Finley performed to a packed house at Dominion-Chalmers United Church in Ottawa. The Grammy award winning (2012 Best Opera Recording) superstar gave a brilliant performance accompanied on the piano by Stephen Ralls.

Jethro Marks and the Ottawa Bach Choir perform Morton Feldman's Rothko Chapelfor soprano, alto, mixed choir, and instruments at the Ottawa Chamberfest. This work was inspired by the 14 large paintings by American artist Mark Rothko.

The 2012 Ottawa Chamberfest includes performances of all sixteen of Beethoven's string quartets with the Shanghai Quartet including some of the composer's most well known works in a performance at the Dominion Chalmers United Church.

The Chamberfest Alfresco outdoor concert series continued with Viva Mariachi Mexico performing at the Amphitheatre at the National Gallery of Canada. Familiar songs were played to an enthusiastic crowd on a beautiful sunny afternoon.
