Personal Statement

I am a visual anthropologist who focuses on Latin America and the Caribbean. Due to my training and personal preferences, I work on long term photographic documentary projects.

My main interests are in documenting the lives of economically and socially marginal people. My work covers workers and how they cope with changes in the labor market due to new tactics in the capitalist system; the impact of the Latin American response to free trade and neoliberal policies; and people who are vulnerable to natural disaster.
