I'm currently carrying a Canon 5D MkII which I love for the amazing image quality. I use it with the Canon 16-36mm F2.8L MkII, 70-200mm F4L IS and some other lenses. My Backup camera is a Panasonic Lumix GF1 and a couple of lenses. It's so small it just fits in my pocket. Both cameras take HD video.

Personal Statement

I am Philip Kirk, a freelance photographer from the UK. Although based out of London you can often find me in some other far flung corner of the world. In 2007 I graduated top of my class with a First Class Honors BA in Photojournalism form what is now Swansea Metropolitan University in Wales, UK. My main portfolio can be found at PhilipKirk.co.uk, and whilst you are there please take time to check out my Blog.

I have been involved in the Tibetan freedom struggle for a number of years, on both sides of the camera. In 2008 I was deported from China after hanging a banner reading "Free Tibet" outside of the China Central Television building in Beijing during the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
