Life is not the breaths you take...but the moments that take your breath away........

Personal Statement

Having married at 15, Richard learned life's lessons early. One child at 16, a second at 18 and by 23, a third child. Richard knew he could make it with hard work and determination. Richard found himself working 3 jobs just to get by, a chef, salesman, disc jockey. "Hell, I even picked up cans along the roadway", he said. At 19 he bought his first house, the hard work starting to pay off. Richard has raised and breed horses, raised and breed poodles and ran a business. Having worked 24 years as a retail clerk and then 16 years as a teamster, Richard retired to the tiny town of Reno in Texas, with no post office and 1 blinking light, with his wife of 45 years. Having spent 6 years building his retirement home, he now starts a new adventure, photo journalism.

Having the time to do what he chooses now, Richard says he will follow one of his hobbies and see where it takes him. Demotix is a perfect fit for Richard where he can sharpen his skills and learn from some of the worlds best photographers. Judging from his past, we think Richard just might join them someday.
